Halloween Song

Every time I think of a Halloween song I have this one stuck in my head from childhood. It happens to be the only piano tune I remember as well.

"Halloween the wind is blowing,
spooks and goblins all about.
Halloween and out we're going,
now to play the game shout out.
Knock, Knock, Knock,
and then we'll shout!
Knock, Knock, Knock,
shout out shout out!
Then a gust of wind
comes blowing,
blows my jack-o-lantern out"

I can't believe I know that by heart :)

Thanks.

The song is called Halloween... I remember learning it... though the words are a little different...it was in a red beginner's piano book... cannot remember the name...

Finger positions are as follows:

Hal-o-ween the wind is blow-ing
L3-L2-L1 R3 R4 R2 R3- L1

Spooks and Goblins all a-bout
R3 R2 R4 R3 R2 R3-L1

Hal-o-ween and out we're go-ing
L3-L2-L1 R3 R4 R2 R3-L1

now to play the game shell-out
R3 R2 R4 R3 R2 R3-L1

Knock! Knock! Knock!
(L4/R3)(L4/R3)(L4/R3)

and then we'll shout!
L1 (L2/R2) R4 (1L/R3)

Knock! Knock! Knock!
(L4/R3)(L4/R3)(L4/R3)

Shell Out! Shell Out!
L1 (L2/R2) R4 (L1/R3)

then a gust of wind come blow-ing
L3 L2 L1 R3 R4 R2 R3-L1

Blows my pump-kin lan-tern out
R3 R4 R2-R3 R2-R3 L1

Where L = left hand, R= right hand, 1 = thumbs positioned over middle C
2 = index fingers
3 = "rude" fingers
4 = "ring" fingers
(/) = play notes at same time

best I can do, haven't played the piano since... well... probably since not long after I learnt to play this song. My fingers still remember where to go though.

I have the piano book at my house still. It's an orange book called Lila Fletcher Piano Course: Book 1. Copyrighted 1950, 1973, 1977, & 2001. Published by Mayfair Montgomery Publishing. Great little piano book.

We LOVE this song so much and play it every Hallowe'en.
